Jared and I decided to create a blog about our house buying process. We figured it would be a good idea since half of our friends and family don't live in Illinois.
As most of you know the bid on Logan St house was accepted last weekend. So that meant this week we had to do all the inspections. The general and termite inspections went well, but the radon did not. A normal level of radon in a house should be 0-4 pCi/l, and the Logan house tested at 33.1!!! So structurally the house is great. . .it just gives you lung cancer. At first we were worried because we heard putting in a mitigation system can be a little pricey (around 1200 dollars), but we talked to our real estate agent and she said that the owners will probably pay to put it in, or we will pay for it but they will take the cost out of the price of the house. We should find out soon what is going to happen. I bet the guy that owned the house will be freaked out when he finds out he's been breathing that for the past 10 years. Maybe time to see a doctor to check his lungs.
Other plans for the weekend include grilling out and playing cards. Should be a fun one.
Freaked out??? He'll be super stoked to finally understand why he can now read peoples minds and has x-ray vision. You guys could become like the Incredibles family!

PS. Put some termite nests in you backyard yesterday. Figured since you won't let me tear down a perfectly good wall, you would definatly have me demo your termite infested wall. Yeah for me! :-)
